This was our evening for 4HOURS!!!! Dud said it would take an hour to put a door in....yea that didn't happen. So the abs didn't happen OOPS. Dinner didn't happen until 8pm during IDOL. Poor Bri didn't eat until 9pmish and he had a horrible headache.

Walk-A-Thon today with the kiddos so I am taking my GPS with me to measure out my walking right along them! Hoping to at least get a few miles in around the track! It is supposed to get to 70 degrees today so I am looking forward to a nice walk this AM and a nice run with the family this afternoon.

Heading to Hershey tomorrow to take Bri to a conference. Then I am meeting up with LeLe and her mom to go to the Hershey Zoo and to lunch! SO excited to see her!!!

Dragging

Today was a VERY long day of testing. At the beginning, middle and end of the year the reading teachers go in and level all students. This week I started with kindergarten with my 3 paraprofessionals. I was going strong until we got to today. I was yawning while listening to the kiddo's reading. I guess after hearing the same books for four days it gets to be a little bit boring. But overall the kids did great and I will be happy when the next three weeks are over and all data is turned in!

I have not done a workout today but plan on doing the abs during IDOL results show and Bones. It beats sitting on the couch. I have most of the abs routine memorized from Six week six pack

Off to make dinner...Bri and Dud have been working on installing the new screen door for 2hours and I have waited to cook. But I am going to be a little selfish and make Mac and Cheese with venison burger.

Be on the look out for the review of Jillian Michaels Jumpstart 14 day cleanse in the next few days.
so I will set the timer to one minute and to reps like Jillian Michaels does on the DVD.

Run for the Heart

Workout: 3.68 31:34 with Hey Hey and Dud. I love running with "family" because I just vent everything and share everything. I basically have a throwup of words LOL. I am all out of things to share within 5minutes of the run. Then it is a blast to hear how Hey Hey and Dud are doing!

Then I bought Long John Silver's for Bri for dinner. He LOVED it....his exact words "Oh this is so bad but sooooo good!"

I then finally got laundry done including washing the rugs in the bathroom and shampooing the throw rug. Then it was time for IDOL!!!! Oh Haley is awesome!!! But I am gunning for James!
I really hope Jacob goes tonight, I have only been saying it for 3 weeks!

Ok another day of testing, then tomorrow is the Walk-A-Thon here at our school!!

QOTD: Who do you want to win IDOL?? Do you run better with people or alone?

TIred

Workout: Zumba that kicked my sore behind from the run the day before. She threw the dance in that does squats for 3minutes and it wore me out!

Warning I am not good at focusing on taking a picture and smiling when I am beat!

So I rushed home to make Honey BBQ Chicken with angel hair pasta. I also forgot to take a picture of it....yes not quite into the routine of the picture taking yet. But it was delicious for my one new recipe for the week. Bri also devoured it all up! I thought I made too much but he ate 3 pieces plus tapioca pudding!

Then I attacked some chores.....the ant infested mailbox (another half mile walk), and some couponing during my shows, then kitchen clean up. I some how avoided the laundry pile I had!

Kub loves newspaper! She also loves tearing it all up or hiding under it when I am trying to read it!

Hoping to get a rain run in this afternoon with Dud. I will have to see what he is up to! Then bringing home Long John Silver's for Bri!

Long day of assessments today and the rest of the week.

Crazy day!

Glad to be an American today!

Workout today 6.3 miles 51:55 at a tempo pace trying to do the second half faster. I just made it because I had head wind on the way back

Had some real interesting things said to me by some students. You learn when you are a teacher that kids have NO FILTER.

Comment 1 " I was out for a fever last week and I fell and hurt my back at our cabin. Oh OOPs I mean I had a fever!" Yea so never tell your kid to lie because they will slip up and tell us you were really at your cabin for 4 days!

Comment 2 "My doctor says I have to go on a diet but not because of the bad word because I have asthma" To a 1st grader F-A-T is a swear word!

Ok I don't even know if i should repeat this one but it is a lesson to parents out there that the cute names you come up for private parts....KIDS REPEAT THEM!

Comment 3 "Did you know my pee bug hurts today?" I mean what do you say to that? Now it was coming from a 6yr old boy so the good ole Oh I'm sorry works as you hide your expression!

Now that is what makes a teachers day worth it! our own episode of Kids say the darn-est things!

The C's Hunting Cabin

As I promised pictures of the trip to the hunting cabin. This place was incredible with amazing views and thousands of acres to explore. This is the cabin but we did not spend much time inside!

We headed up to Mud Lake to do some fishing. Bri and Jason checking the row boat for rattle snakes before our trip out on the lake.
Mud Lake! Isn't is beautiful and it is at the top of the mountain. But unfortunately there were no fish in the lake that day!

This is the only thing we caught that day in the row boat. I call it a "thingy with legs" but I do know that it is a salamander.
So back to why the boys were checking the boat for rattle snakes. On our way up the mountain the boys decided to get out and check the hunting spot called "titantic" for rattle snakes. There are lots of rocks in this field...perfect sun bathing spot.
If you look on the left there is a 4 foot long black rattle snake going nuts because we are crazy people and got that close for pictures to put on a blog!!! If this picture had volume you wouldn't be able to focus to read because it was SO loud! On the right of the rock there were 3 more rattle snakes but smaller. Cool uh? Yea first ones I ever saw before!

After no fish, just snakes we headed back down the mountain for dinner. Now I had no clue what dinner included so I did not bring my phone or camera but regret that. There is a family that live in a house next to the cabin that are the care takers. When anyone in the club comes up they fix up the cabin and also make your dinner. There was the most tender steak roast, twice baked potatoes, green beans, champagne, and pound cake! OMG Bri had to help me finish it all.

Afterwards we got back in the car and headed back up the mountain before the sun went down.
The girls! Laura, Katie, Juliette, and me.
Bri and I with Mud Lake behind us.

The boys Jason, Ben and Bri.

Now on this trip there were a few more salamanders.

But the best of all was the boys and I running after this porcupine!! Yes after seeing 4 rattle snakes we still jumped out of the car and chased a porcupine so I could get a picture. Too bad I am not good with the camera!

It was a great day and I was glad I fought through the head cold to get out and enjoy the nice day and the critters. Hoping to get back up there some day!

Feeling Better

After staying home from work on Friday I slept most of the morning then hung out getting caught up on the Royal wedding during the afternoon. I was in bed pretty early that night too.

I hit up the gas station and grocery store early Saturday in prep of a day with Bri's boys at Ben's families hunting cabin. (pictures to come soon!!)

The weather was beautiful and even with it being windy and a little chilly (sweatshirt weather) I got sun burned on my face. But it was a fun day and full of laughter.

Today is a laid back day, doing a few jobs around the house as Bri sleeps to get ready for work tonight.

I haven't run since Wednesday due to my cold, but I might try a little run since I am not feeling as run down but I might still need my hankie with me. So my long run is being moved to during the week. Two weeks until the 15 miler run/hike race and I have only done a 9.7mile long run!! I want to do at least a 12mile run but we will see what happens. Last year I did it with no prep and enjoyed it. It is all trail/ski hills and most of it I was by myself in the woods. I would like to at least beat my time from last year knowing I have a little more distance base going into it.
